Terms of Service

By using the SailingHub application, the user accepts these Terms of Service.

1. Service

SailingHub provides tools for recreational boating: marine weather, route planning and logbook, anchor monitoring, berth booking and registration for events and regattas.

2. Safety at sea — limitation of liability

Weather information, maps, routes and the anchor alarm are provided for support purposes only and do not replace official nautical charts, onboard instruments or the skipper's judgement. The user is solely responsible for the safe conduct of the boat and the safety of the crew. SailingHub is not liable for damages arising from reliance on such information.

3. Account

The user is responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials and for the activities carried out through their account.

4. Bookings, events and payments

Berth bookings and event registrations are subject to the conditions of the relevant operator/organiser. Payments are processed by Stripe. Any refunds follow the applicable cancellation policies.

5. User content

The user is responsible for the content they upload (photos, notes) and warrants they hold the rights to it. Uploading unlawful content or content infringing the rights of others is prohibited.

5.1 Zero tolerance for objectionable content

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Harassment, threats, hate speech, discrimination, sexual content, incitement to violence, impersonation and scams are prohibited. Every user can report content or a person directly in the app, and can block another user: a blocked user can no longer contact you, and you no longer see each other's content. We review reports and act on content that breaks these rules — removing it, and suspending the account when warranted — normally within 24 hours of the report. Reports are anonymous towards the person reported.

6. Acceptable use

Using the app for unlawful purposes or in ways that compromise its operation or security is prohibited.

We may update these Terms; changes will be published on this page with the update date.
