Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the SailingHub mobile application ("the app", "we") processes users' personal data, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The data controller is Lanificio Digitale S.r.l., Piazza E. De Nicola 46, 80139 Naples, Italy — VAT no. 09387701213. For any request concerning personal data you can write to privacy@sailinghub.club.

2. Data we collect

• Account: email, name and profile, managed through the platform's identity service.
• Location: GPS location, used for local weather, route planning and anchor monitoring (also in the background, only while monitoring is active).
• Photos: images uploaded by the user for their boats or route stops.
• Boats and routes: boat data, saved routes, notes and navigation tracks.
• Bookings and events: booked berths, regatta registrations, tickets.
• Payment data: payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store card details.
• Personal details and tax data: first and last name, telephone number, address, Italian tax code and, for partners, billing details (company name, VAT number, SDI code, billing address). Collected only when the user fills in their profile, and used to issue tax documents and to register for regattas, where Italian law requires them.

3. Purposes of processing

We process data to: authenticate the user; provide the nautical features (weather, routes, anchoring, navigation); manage berth bookings and event registrations; issue tickets; process payments.

4. Third-party services

• Mapbox — display of nautical maps.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Open-Meteo — marine weather data (wind, waves, forecasts).

Each provider processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

5. Retention

Data is kept for as long as necessary for the stated purposes and legal obligations. The user may request deletion of their account and associated data.

6. User rights

Under the GDPR the user has the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Requests can be sent to privacy@sailinghub.club. To delete your account and the data linked to it, see Delete your account.

7. Device permissions

The app requests access to location, camera and gallery. Permissions are used only for the features described and can be revoked at any time from the device settings.

8. Changes

Any changes to this policy will be published on this page with the update date.
